As we have a lot more time on our hands, especially during lockdown, now is the perfect time to dust off our aprons and head into the kitchen.

In this article, we will be suggesting some great, hearty homemade recipes that are easy to make on a tight budget. From breakfast to dinner, we have you covered.
Breakfast: Porridge
Porridge is brilliant for breakfast and is sure to keep your stomach full. Made with oats, porridge is also a great vegan friendly option. Put some bananas or blueberries in, a dusting of sugar and you will have a tasty meal to start your day off right.
Lunch: Soup
There are a variety of soups that are easy to make from scratch. Whether you prefer minestrone or are more of a fan of broccoli and stilton, there are lots of homemade soup recipes that are easy to follow. If you are feeling truly inspired, why not bake a simple loaf to go with it.
Dinner: Stew
Stews can be made in the morning and left on a low heat over the course of the day, allowing you to focus on other things without worrying about it whilst it cooks. Whether you prefer fish, chicken or pumpkin, there are lots of options to try. Pack the stew with vegetables to fully absorb the health benefits.
Dessert: Apple Crumble
During lockdown time we can afford to treat ourselves to lovely desserts. Whilst there are a range of recipes, we opted to recommend the classic dessert, apple crumble, which is really easy and also very traditional. All you need is flour, butter, some sugar and an apple. Though
we also strongly recommend that you have squirty cream, custard or ice-cream on the side, after all you’ve earned it.
We hope that these recipes inspire you to get in the kitchen. Making the food yourself gives you such an immense sense of pride and satisfaction, resulting in the food tasting even more delicious. Whilst, of course, we advise that you always follow food safety precautions, we also want you to have fun and enjoy it.
Bon appetit!
